Job Purpose
The Senior AI & Modelling Specialist is a crucial, hands-on role that will serve as the technical engine of our centralized analytics function. You will take complex business challenges and turn them into powerful, data-driven solutions. By leveraging your deep expertise in computational science and modelling, you will design and build innovative simulations and algorithms that directly inform forecasting, strategic planning, and C-suite decisions. Key Responsibilities
1. Serve as the R&D partner for the Head of Business Analytics, translating strategic business needs into executable analytical and technical designs.
2. Conduct hands-on, exploratory analysis and prototyping, building complex models and simulations (e.g., Monte Carlo) to test hypotheses and prove concepts for forecasting and scenario planning.
3. Provide technical leadership and guidance to our Data Science and Analytics team, ensuring the successful implementation, automation, and long-term scalability of the models you design.
4. Manage the entire modelling lifecycle, from initial design and development through to production, with a focus on delivering robust and accurate solutions.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and source the data needed to build innovative and impactful analytical solutions.
Team Dynamics
This role reports into the Business Analytics Function, a centralized hub for data-driven strategy and execution. The role will be the cornerstone of a collaborative team:
· The Data Science and Analytics Team (Your Team): As the "R&D arm" of the function, this team is responsible for translating new business questions into actionable insights and innovative analytical solutions. You will be a key driver in this group, leading the technical design and prototyping of our most challenging projects.
· The Regional Performance Management Team: This team serves as the "boots on the ground," leveraging the tools you help to create to drive business performance.
· The Analytics Operations Team: This team formalizes and automates established analytical processes, ensuring the long-term stability and scalability of the tools and algorithms you help to develop.
