Job purpose

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of statutory audit requirements to meet statutory and internal deadlines
  • Serve as point of contact for auditors, part-timers and third-party providers for in scope countries
  • Work with other Finance Towers to identify process improvement opportunities to reduce dependencies and processing time

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist the Statutory Compliance Director in planning audits (e.g. confirming requirements, agreeing timelines with auditors), training staff and monitoring attendance and performance
  • Serve as point of contact of auditors, part-timers and third-party providers for statutory audit requirements of assigned IWG entities
  • Ensure audit and related administrative activities, documents and reports are accomplished on time and accurately
  • Reconcile and understand differences between statutory and IFRS accounts and ensure documentation of the same in the accounting system
  • Ensure final accounts, working files and other related documents are stored on SharePoint and determine if there are documents required by country law to be archived physically
  • Keep abreast of all regulatory changes impacting assigned IWG entities
  • Where required or requested:
    • Flag going concern and/or equity issues (preferably before year end) and coordinate resolution with Group
    • Propose dividend distribution at least once a year subject to country law and secure Group approval 
    • Prepare analysis and schedules required during tax inspection of assigned IWG entities
    • Assist in corporate income tax return preparation and/or filing
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Statutory Compliance Director

 

Qualifications

  • CPA
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in statutory audits and/or financial reporting, preferably on a global role
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Proficient in MS applications and computer accounting software
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Able to manage a team, prioritize tasks, manage issues and produce results in a timely manner
  • Highly analytical
  • Can work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Team player
  • The following are preferred but not required:
    • Experience in Big 4
    • Background in BPO/Shared Services Finance operations
    • Experience in dealing with and managing 3rd party service providers
