Team Leader, Collections

This job is for you if you have the following;

What you will do

  • Lead a team of 6 collections specialists that are actively collecting payments from customers by liaising closely with Debt Collection agencies and Law firms
  • Hire, coach, motivate and performance manage the collections team to drive the recovery of overdue invoices and agreement value.
  • Liaise with Debt Collection Agencies on a regular basis to develop strategies to boost recoveries, including but not limited to call campaigns, account segmentation, prioritization, and training/coaching initiatives.
  • Develop goals that complement the overarching company objectives and manage staff to continually meet and exceed targets.
  • Manage and monitor team activities and performance in line with company guidelines.
  • Drive and oversee both small claims and high court litigation collections processes, from filing cases through (virtual) court hearings, judgment, enforcement, and out-of-court settlements.
  • Act as an escalation point for the team to authorize financial settlements and payment plans proposed by DCAs and law firms, resolve issues with the team and DCAs, and negotiate with customers.
  • Run reports and analyse data pertaining to the team’s performance. Prepare and deliver regular updates on team performance and conduct one-to-ones.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in a thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective tools and techniques
  • Ability to work proactively and use your own initiative.
  • You must be fluent in English
