Corporate Development Analyst

 

Job Purpose

 

One of IWG’s strategic objectives is to develop our global footprint and national networks. This role will work across a range of strategic projects that will help us achieve these goals.

 

It’s important to emphasise you will work in a very small team with limited supervision and enjoy lot of independence. A lot of flexibility is required due to the ad-hoc nature of this role, as the work required can change quickly and can move in multiple directions at once. You will also have a significant set of responsibilities and will have the opportunity to make high-impact and value-add contributions to a very dynamic and core team within IWG.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Working closely with Senior Management and assisting with the analysis of business performance, M&A transactions, evaluation of strategic options and organic growth opportunities:

  • Preparing operating and valuation models for potential acquisitions, investments and disposals including pro-forma P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
  • Analysis of business performance in the context of performance management and wider strategic opportunities
  • Benchmarking IWG performance against competitors
  • End-to-end project management, including financial modelling, commercial analysis, project execution and implementation
  • Supporting the Corporate Development team in sharing of best practice across the Group
  • Preparation of investment proposals and company and market analysis
  • Support the internal business development teams in their review of the M&A pipeline
  • Screening and evaluation of M&A opportunities
  • Liaising with country management teams around the world
  • Preparing and updating Investment Cases and formulating recommendations for the Investment Committee
  • Creating tools and analysing data that support our growth ambitions and investment decisions
  • Provide financial information that will support IWG in negotiations with landlords / partners
  • Creating and updating pipeline information and other regular reports
  • Ad-hoc project work for the CEOs of Regions, Chief Investment Officer, CFO and other Senior Executives to evaluate business performance

 

Required Experience

 

Experienced at Analyst / Associate level, developing and presenting data analytics in the following areas:

  • Investment banking
  • Equity Research
  • Lead Advisory
  • Private Equity
  • Asset Management
  • Transaction Services

 

Real Estate / Property experience not necessary, experience of working in a Financial Institution is preferred.  

 

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Enthusiastic self-starter who is ambitious and wants to learn
  • Highly numerate with strong Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical skills – ability to understand data and see the “bigger picture”
  • Relevant financial modelling, Presentation and M&A process experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and escalate key risks to the appropriate senior management
  • Experience in process automation and AI is preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent attention to detail in all aspects of the job
  • Strong communication, persuasion, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, multi-task, and work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Adaptability and flexibility, able to respond quickly to changing demands, processes and updated information
  • Achievement orientation – has the drive to succeed, not just for self, but for team and company
