Job Purpose

The Senior Analyst will develop and champion the foundational analytical framework for the organization, serving as a pivotal builder of our centralized analytics function. You will act as the primary analytical partner for the C-suite, providing rapid, insightful analysis to guide strategic decision-making and enable a truly data-driven approach to business challenges. This role is a unique opportunity to shape the future of analytics at a global FTSE 250 company, creating the systems and processes that will deliver long-term value.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct rapid, high impact data analysis on complex business questions, translating C-suite and senior leadership inquiries into clear analytical hypotheses and delivering initial insights.
  2. Lead the initial exploratory analysis for AI modelling projects, identifying key features and business mechanics to strategically guide Data Scientists and inform the development of robust machine learning solutions.
  3. Partner with data scientists and specialist functions to transform initial analyses into robust, automated reports and tools for business-wide adoption.
  4. Manage and enhance a portfolio of key analytical tools, which are used to generate critical data such as KPIs, benchmarks, and targets for use across various business functions.
  5. Develop and implement a centralized suite of analytical tools, models, and dashboards to empower a team of performance managers with data-driven insights.

Team Dynamics

The Senior Analyst reports into the Business Analytics Function, a centralized hub for data-driven strategy and execution. The role will be the cornerstone of a collaborative team:

  • The Data Science and Analytics Team (Your Team): As the "R&D arm" of the function, this team is responsible for translating new business questions into actionable insights and innovative analytical solutions. You will be a key leader in this group, serving as the bridge between strategic business needs and technical execution.
  • The Regional Performance Management Team: This team serves as the "boots on the ground," leveraging the tools you help to create to drive business performance.
  • The Analytics Operations Team: This team formalizes and automates established analytical processes, ensuring the long-term stability and scalability of the tools and algorithms you help to develop.

The role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence the entire analytical value chain, from initial exploration and strategic guidance to scalable implementation and on-the-ground impact.

Personal Abilities:

  • Exceptional Communication & Storytelling: The ability to translate complex data and analytical findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive & Strategic Mindset: You're a self-starter who doesn't wait for questions. You're able to anticipate business needs, identify analytical opportunities, and frame problems in a way that leads to actionable solutions.
  • Business Acumen: A deep curiosity and understanding of business drivers, financial models, and operational processes. You can quickly grasp the strategic context behind a request and identify the most impactful questions to answer.
  • Adept at Stakeholder Management: You can build strong relationships with individuals at all levels, from C-suite executives to data scientists and performance managers. You're comfortable navigating different agendas and can manage expectations with clarity and diplomacy.
  • Intellectual Humility: The ability to provide an initial, rapid analysis with the understanding that more detailed investigation may be needed. You know when to hand off a problem and when to collaborate for a more robust solution.
  • Resilience & Adaptability: You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are comfortable with a certain degree of ambiguity. You can pivot quickly between high-level strategic tasks and detailed, hands-on work.
