Position Overview  

The Operations Director's role is to drive high-quality centre standards and stellar customer service. They work closely with the centre staff, facilities team, contractors, and landlords to sustain world-leading centre standards throughout our network. They ensure the field team focuses on our products, service levels, and, most importantly, our current and prospective customers. 

What does the job involve?  

  • To sustain high centre standards by Ensuring the accurate completion of the centre standards audits for all centres within their Area and taking a detailed and hands-on approach to close out improvement plans in a fast and cost-efficient manner 
  • Identify and ensure the appropriate number of show offices are set up in all centres to deliver the necessary commercial outcomes 
  • Work with national leadership and centralised teams to advise improvements to processes, approaches and direction to ensure IWG Operations can be industry-leading 
  • Ensure all H&S, Compliance, and Security issues are standard across the Area. Share best practices across the UK to help the business continually improve. 
  • Owning the resolution of landlord FM issues and working closely with the various teams to coordinate prompt actions 
  • Working with the FM Helpdesk to prioritise key FM issues within the Area. This will involve directing the assigned helpdesk operatives to help them continually improve and to sustain a proactive and timely approach to deliver the required centre standards 
  • Conduct “virtual” round table discussions with centre team members to continuously identify issues that need resolving (stop, automate, train) and feed to the UK Leadership Team for action 
  • Ensure new business changes (i.e. processes, procedures, products, services, initiatives) are executed and embedded into the Area 
  • Travel as needed to locations where there are significant issues that cannot be remedied remotely and for training/development opportunities 

How do we measure the success of this role?  

  • 92% Cleaning Audit Scores
  • Critical centre issues include, but are not limited to, toilets, lights out in centres, power not working in rooms, dishwashers not working, and sinks not overflowing/ blocked. Ensure resolution for all mid-level issues within one month. 
  • Greater transparency on the performance of our assets and data to share high-cost centres.
  • Support with the resolution of high-impact, major customer issues. 
  • Actionable recommendations to make meaningful improvements to our operating business. This may include improved partnerships, systems and processes.
  • Show offices
  • Food – standardise on catering offer 
  • Parking – YPS
  • Electric Vehicle
  • Event strategy – 1 event per month, cost-neutral
