Job purpose

  • Establish a system to correctly and efficiently reconcile tax accounts
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of tax accounts, with focus on indirect tax.
  • Provide recommendation to correct tax account balances based on variances identified.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet tax accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and account balances are accurately stated. Research/resolve any issues identified.
  • Reconcile tax accounts to source data and systems, as necessary to ensure all transactions have been accurately recorded. Research/resolve any issues identified.
  • Prepare the excel templates needed for the analysis and reconciliation of tax accounts and corresponding summaries. These reports will be used by management to decide on next course of action, not limited to controls and process improvements.
  • Maintain records in compliance with Company record retention policy.
  • Ensure that there are sufficient support for efficient audit reviews from Internal and External audit
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation and coordinate with relevant parties any required updates to Procedures
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Financial Admin & Compliance Manager/Director

 

Qualifications

  • Preferably CPA
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in tax compliance and/or tax reporting
  • Proficient in MS applications and financial processes
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Able to prioritize tasks, manage issues and produce results in a timely manner
  • Highly analytical
  • Can work well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Team player
  • The following are preferred but not required:
    • Knowledge of international tax
    • Experience in Big 4
    • Background in BPO/Shared Services operations
    • Experience in dealing with and managing 3rd party service providers

 

Work Conditions

  • Hybrid arrangement: Subject to Team schedule but not more than 8 days per month.
  • Shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 1 to 10 PM
  • Equipment: Laptop and other peripherals will be provided by the company
